I see life not as finding who we are, but as a continual process of becoming.
Hello and welcome. My name is Tara, and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist, supervised by Mona Klausing, LMFT (CA #101243).
I completed my master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University. Originally from Iran, I moved to the United States a few years ago, an experience that deepened my appreciation for how culture, language, and belonging shape the ways we relate to ourselves and others.
My clinical experience includes working with youth and families within a community-based care model, where collaboration and relationship are central to healing. I work from both Narrative and Attachment-based perspectives, drawing on existential thought and its curiosity about meaning, choices, and becoming.
I believe change begins when we can safely explore our stories, emotions, experiences, relationships, and even our biology, and begin to connect them as parts of a whole, toward a more grounded and wholesome sense of identity. Inspired by the philosopher Kierkegaard, I see life not as finding who we are, but as a continual process of becoming.
In my work, I hold a deep respect for culture, relationships, and identity. I strive to create a space of openness and compassion where every story is seen as meaningful, and where clients can rediscover the beauty and dignity of their own narrative.
My fees are $95-125 per 45-minute session (based on household income). See our sliding fee scale and request an appointment.
