Building connections with, mentoring and caring for our fellow therapists is an important value at Avani Counseling. We know that our colleagues in mental health often work in very stressful environments with high caseloads and little time for taking care of themselves. And, we recognize that far too many talented therapists leave the field every year due to burnt-out, low pay, and job dissatisfaction.

With that in mind, we have created several offerings for therapists, whether you are new to the field or seasoned clinicians.

INSIGHT Collective | Peer Consultation Group – Working in private practice can be isolating. If you are seeking a community to support your work, join us on the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 10-11:30 am in Old Town for our monthly peer consultation group. This is a supportive circle of fellow therapists committed to reflective practices, mutual support, and continued growth. We’ll take turns discussing our clients, sharing ideas and building connections. The cost is $45 per group, and it is limited to 8 participants.

RESTORE | Therapist Retreats – This Spring we are holding two half-day therapists retreats on March 28th and May 9th from 9-12:30 pm. Step into a cozy and welcoming environment designed for reflection, creativity, movement and sound healing.  Join us in Old Town as we hold space for your most important client – you!

AAMFT Supervision Mentoring – Avani’s Founder, Mona, is an AAMFT-Approved Clinical Supervisor / Mentor and meets the required supervision training requirements outlined by the California Board of Behavioral Services (BBS). She runs an AAMFT Mentoring group twice a month on Wednesdays mornings. Aspiring supervisors wanting to acquire the AAMFT-Approved Supervisor designation to oversee trainees in COAMFTE-accredited universities, can reach out to  mona@avanicounseling.com.
