I am attentive to the ways culture, family, and intergenerational dynamics shape identity.
Hello! My name is Pankaj and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #160392), supervised by Mona Klausing, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA #101243). I hold a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from San Diego State University.
I strongly believe that the therapeutic relationship is one of the most important aspects of treatment. In a collaborative relationship based on empathy, respect, and curiosity, we can better understand what is truly troubling you—including why your relationships with yourself and others might be stuck in limiting patterns. People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or quietly alone with thoughts and emotions they haven’t been able to fully share. My aim is to offer a space of warmth and deep acceptance where you feel genuinely seen and not alone with what you’re carrying.
I work relationally and collaboratively, paying close attention to the formative relationships and experiences that have shaped your internal world. At times, this includes bringing curiosity to what unfolds between us in therapy, as it can offer a window into dynamics that show up elsewhere in your life. I work with adults and couples and am deeply devoted to helping people build and sustain loving, long-term relationships. I am also especially drawn to working with men who are seeking deeper access to their emotional lives and a greater capacity for intimacy and connection.
As a bicultural therapist of Indian background living in the U.S. for over 20 years, I am attentive to the ways culture, family, and intergenerational dynamics shape identity, belonging, guilt, and expectations. I welcome clients from all backgrounds and especially those from South Asian communities who are seeking a culturally attuned, relationally focused therapist. Additionally, I am trained in Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) and offer this for individuals and couples when appropriate.
Outside of the therapy room, my relationship with the world is informed by my background as an MIT-trained urban planner, professional baker, and open-water swimmer. I’ve learned to listen attentively with all my senses to the complex cultural systems we are shaped by, and I bring this attuned listening to our work together.
If you feel I might be a good fit, I welcome you to reach out to schedule a consultation. My fees are $95–$125 per 45-minute session, based on household income. I also accept Aetna, Cigna, Sharp/OPTUM and United Healthcare/OPTUM insurance under my supervisor’s license. See our sliding fee scale and request an appointment.
