My hope is to provide a space that feels grounding, compassionate, and collaborative; a place where your story can unfold safely and meaningfully.
Welcome! My name is Lauren and I am an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT #158825), supervised by Mona Klausing, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA #101243). I hold an M.S. in Counseling from Pepperdine University.
Whether you are beginning therapy for the first time or returning to it after some time away, I recognize that reaching out for support can feel both courageous and uncertain. My hope is to provide a space that feels grounding, compassionate, and collaborative; a place where your story can unfold safely and meaningfully.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent many years in the corporate world, where I often felt disconnected from my deeper sense of purpose. Making the decision to change careers was both humbling and transformative, it reminded me that it is never too late to realign with what feels authentic. That lived experience shapes the way I hold space for others who are navigating their own transitions and rediscovering meaning in their lives.
I work with individuals and couples experiencing change and transition in their lives. I have a particular passion for supporting those who find themselves stepping into caregiving roles, often unexpectedly; such as caring for parents or an ailing loved one. These transitions can feel abrupt or disorienting, and it’s common to lose sight of one’s own identity in the process. Together, we will explore ways to navigate these shifts while honoring your sense of self and personal boundaries.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Narrative Therapy, grounded in the belief that there is power in the stories we tell about our lives. I hold close the idea that the problem is the problem and the person is not the problem. Through storytelling, reflection, and curiosity, new meanings can emerge, creating space for hope and possibility.
In my own life, I am drawn to meaning-making and the ways it connects us to something larger than ourselves. You can often find me in the mountains or by the ocean, taking long walks with my rescue dog, Moon. When I am not working, I am usually reading, watching a great show, or reconnecting with my inner self through yoga, breathwork, and Pilates.
My fees are $95-125 per 45-minute session (based on household income). I can also accept Aetna and United Healthcare insurance under my supervisor’s license. See our sliding fee scale and request an appointment. If you feel I might be a good fit for your therapeutic journey, I welcome you to reach out to schedule a consultation.
