Senior Associate Therapist
CANDEA MOSLEY

As an African-American, cis gendered, woman, mother, and former military spouse who comes from a multicultural household, I have witnessed the stressors that outside issues have on families, couples, and individuals.

Hello! My name is Candea Mosley and I am a senior Registered Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (AMFT #120796) supervised by Mona Klausing, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (CA #101243). I have recently completed 3,000 hours of clinical experience and am on the way to becoming licensed in California.

I am originally from New Braunfels, Texas and after moving around the country and being a military spouse for 22 years, I now live in sunny San Diego, California. I have two adult children and a cat. I received my Masters in Counseling with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at San Diego State University. I began my clinical training at License to Freedom, a local non-profit agency that serves Middle Eastern immigrants and refugees that have experienced trauma and domestic violence.

As an African-American, cis gendered, woman, mother, and former military spouse who comes from a multicultural household, I have witnessed the stressors that outside issues have on families, couples, and individuals. My desire to become a therapist comes from a genuine interest in people and their unique relationship dynamics. My approach to therapy is collaborative, which gives space for my clients and I to work together to find solutions and alternative ways of looking at problems that arise in their lives. Using both Collaborative and Narrative Therapy frameworks, I am able to see my clients separate from their problems– privileging their values, strengths, skill sets, and resources.

Due to my experience and background, I work well with people from diverse backgrounds, which include a wide range of ethnicities, cultures, ages, sexual orientations, romantic relationships, and gender identities. Wherever you are on your journey I look forward to working together in learning what makes you unique.

I want to acknowledge the bravery it takes to make the first step to sorting out life’s challenges. If you choose me, I look forward to building an honest, trusting, and helpful relationship with you that honors your preferences and ways of being. All of which can be done from the coziness of your home via telehealth :).

Starting June 1st, my fees will be $80-125 per 45-minute session (based on household income. Request an appointment.
